This is a delightful musical box illustrating the popular children's book 'The Tale of Jemima Puddle-duck' by Beatrix Potter. In the story, Jemima seeks to find herself a place to nest her eggs, and is helped by a charming gentleman in the woods who happens to have a woodshed that she can use. He asks her to dinner and, not realising that the gentleman is in fact a fox with very different intentions, she rushes to collect a variety of herbs and onions - all excellent ingredients to compliment roast duck. Here we see Jemima in her trademark pink shawl and bright blue bonnet, carrying her bag of herbs from the farm kitchen. The piece is a wonderful addition to the Beatrix Potter collection, and would make a fabulous gift for a new baby, who would undoubtedly appreciate the bright colours, adorable figurine and soothing music.
